Senior’s Choice at Home—We Love to Help.

Providing homemaker and companion service with a heart for over 15 years.

Seniors’ Choice at Home is a locally owned, non-franchised service. Started in 1995 by Jim and Lori Agrimson, it was the first non-medical home care service in the Twin City area. Currently Seniors’ Choice has 70+ devoted caregivers serving more than 100 clients. It is gratifying to know that our clients and their families are our #1 source of referrals.

Affordable Assistance and Caring Companionship

  • We provide non-medical assistance and caring companions—light housekeeping, transportation and errands, help with laundry, meal preparation and more.
  • Our caregivers are carefully selected, closely supervised, insured and bonded. All caregivers speak and understand English very well.
  • Competent assistance on either a temporary or long-term basis; services are customized to fit individual needs. There is a 3-hour minimum.
  • 24-hour, 7 days a week assistance is available.

A True Story of Helping with our Heart

The daughter of an older woman with significant memory loss called Seniors’ Choice at Home about having one of our care givers stay with her Mom during the workday. Mom had recently moved from a small town in northern Minnesota to live with her daughter who had a very demanding job with a large corporation. Thje daughter was afraid Mom would wander away from her new home and become lost.

During our initial assessment visit, Mom and the Seniors’ Choice representative were introduced.  Very shortly after the introduction, Mom went to her room and slammed the door, stating,”I do not need a baby sitter!” The daughter decided it was necessary for Mom’s safety and well-being to move ahead with the plan.

On her first visit, Mary Kay, the care giver, took Mom a jar of homemade jam. The new client was thrilled to receive the gift and thought it was the best tasting jam ever.  Mary Kay paid attention to Mom’s delight and said,” We can make jam together,” and brought the ingredients on her next visit. Mary Kay saw a way to help Mom feel useful and needed. They enjoyed each other’s company for several years.

Seniors’ Choice care givers don’t just clean, cook, or drive for the clients. Our care givers make an effort to develop a relationship that engages the clients in activities that are enjoyable and helps them feel useful and needed.
