nc little logoN.C. Little Hospice Mission: to provide exceptional care and support to patients and their families so they may experience the highest quality of life possible. Our loving, specialized care provides comfort and dignity at a time when it is needed most. We believe that no one should live in pain; no one should live in fear of dying with their symptoms out of control; and no one should die feeling alone.

The N. C. Little Memorial Hospice is a not-for-profit, independent hospice organization.

The Little Hospice is the state’s oldest residential facility and is licensed by the Minnesota Department of Health serving patients from throughout Minnesota and beyond. The Little Hospice is a member of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Association and Hospice Minnesota.

Patients of all ages with any illness may be appropriate for hospice care, at the point their physician determines they have a prognosis of six months or less to live. Some of the more common diagnoses we see are:

  • Cancer
  • Cardiovascular disorder
  • Renal disease
  • Liver disease
  • Lung disease
  • HIV/AIDS
  • Stroke
  • Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis
  • Dementia

Our home looks and feels like most comfortable suburban homes. The aroma of homemade soup simmering, cookies baking or “Sunday dinner” in the oven, greet visitors and families as they walk in the door. Each patient bedroom has its own television, private telephone, and state-of-the-art hospital bed. Families often bring special items and photographs so patients can feel comforted by familiar surroundings. Family members are welcome to stay overnight in our guest bedrooms or, if they desire, camp out in their loved one’s room on a hide-away bed.hospice garden

The Little Hospice Memorial Giving Program gives donors the opportunity to remember special individuals with a memorial or tribute gift. A commemorative gift honors a loved one’s life and serves to reflect upon the memories that live forever. The Little Hospice will send an acknowledgement of the gift to the individuals whom you designate, notifying them of your thoughtful gesture.
